Infrastructure Victoria has provided advice to government on the future need, timing and location of a second container port for Victoria.
Infrastructure Victoria has provided its advice to government on increasing ports capacity for the state, including recommendations aimed at ensuring the Port of Hastings could increase its trades and volumes in the future.
Infrastructure Victoria has identified Bay West as the preferred location for a new container port once the Port of Melbourne reaches capacity of 8 million TEU around 2055, saying the site was also well suited to becoming Melbourne’s future port in the longer term.
Infrastructure Victoria is pleased to be working with Resilient Melbourne to host an open innovation challenge to find new ways to reduce transport congestion, combat social isolation and make the experience of travelling more socially fulfilling.
