Infrastructure Victoria is the state's independent advisory body. We conduct research on infrastructure issues and provide advice to government. We prepare and update Victoria's 30-year infrastructure strategy.

What we do

Infrastructure Victoria is an independent statutory authority with 3 core function:

  • publishing original research on infrastructure-related issues
  • preparing a 30-year infrastructure strategy for Victoria, which we review and update every 3 to 5 years
  • advising the Victorian Government on specific infrastructure matters.
We do not directly oversee or fund infrastructure projects.

The Infrastructure Victoria Act 2015

The Infrastructure Victoria Act 2015 came into effect on 1 October 2015. The Act establishes Infrastructure Victoria as a statutory authority, with independence and appropriate powers to support its role to provide trusted, evidence-based advice to government.

Disclosure statement

We encourage employees and members of the public to report incidents of corrupt or improper conduct. 

The Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012 https://www.legislation.vic.gov.au/in-force/acts/public-interest-disclosures-act-2012/026 helps people make disclosures of improper conduct by public officers and public bodies. It also provides protection to people who make disclosures in accordance with the Act, and outlines how disclosures are addressed.
