Assessment of Victorian Infrastructure Plan tabled in Parliament

Tuesday 31 October 2017

Today our 2016-17 annual report was tabled in Parliament, which includes our assessment of the Government’s priorities as outlined in the Victorian Infrastructure Plan.

It marks another milestone in the new way of infrastructure planning in Victoria following the release of the state’s first 30-year Infrastructure Strategy late last year, and subsequent release of the Government’s Victorian Infrastructure Plan in October this year.

Our assessment includes a sector-by-sector analysis of the Government’s infrastructure priorities.

It also looks at how the Victorian Infrastructure Plan meets Victoria’s infrastructure needs.  In doing so we have developed and published a set of indicators to measure progress, which we will continue to refine in subsequent reporting.

It is recognised that the development of the 30-year infrastructure strategy and the Victorian Infrastructure Plan are both firsts, so there is clear opportunity for Infrastructure Victoria and the Government to further develop this planning process in the future.
