Release of the Victorian Infrastructure Plan

Wednesday 18 October 2017

Infrastructure Victoria welcomes the release of the Victorian Government’s Victorian Infrastructure Plan.

The plan responds to our 30-year infrastructure strategy delivered to the Victorian Parliament in December 2016.

Our strategy made 137 recommendations to respond to our infrastructure challenges and opportunities over the short, medium and long term.

The Victorian Infrastructure Plan indicates that Government has accepted 134 of our recommendations in full, in part or in principle. The Plan also outlines the infrastructure actions the Government intends to take as a priority over the next five years.

We are pleased the Victorian Government has considered all of the recommendations made in our strategy, which were based on the best available evidence and extensive consultation.

Under the Infrastructure Victoria Act 2015, we are required within our annual report to include an assessment of the Government’s specified priorities and progress in meeting Victoria’s infrastructure needs. Our annual report will be tabled in Parliament later this year.
